v2.0 Version 2.0 is out now — a full structural suite

Wood Framing Shear Wall Designer

Version 2.0 takes the load from the roof to the footing. Revit BIM sync, ASCE 7 wind and snow loads, trusses, diaphragms, multi-story shear walls, beams, columns and foundations — one 3D model, one sealed calculation package.

NEW IN VERSION 2.0

Version 2.0 Is Out Now

Version 1.x sized shear walls on one story. Version 2.0 designs the whole light-frame building — and hands you the sealed calculation package at the end.

Multi-Story Is Here

The headline limit of version 1.x is gone. Stories stack, gravity takes down through the whole building and story shear accumulates, so every wall, beam, post and footing is designed with the load that actually reaches it.

Revit Round-Trip

Not just import. Pull fresh geometry from Revit with a reviewable diff that preserves your design, then push walls, headers, beams and columns back as schedulable Revit parameters.

Roof to Footing, One Model

Trusses and rafters, floor joists, diaphragms, shear walls, beams and headers, columns and ACI 318-19 footings — a single design chain where each stage feeds the next instead of six disconnected spreadsheets.

Wood or Cold-Formed Steel

Pick the lateral system per building: wood light-frame to SDPWS 2021, or cold-formed steel to AISI S240-20 with its own screwed and bolted hold-down catalog.

Every Table Says Why

Design All (Optimize) sizes every beam, header and post for you across sawn lumber, LVL, PSL and glulam — and when a member still fails, the batch hands you a written finding explaining what governed it.

Packages You Can Seal

Per-discipline PDF packages with cover, scope, design criteria, index and an Engineer of Record block — and a freshness rule that refuses to issue a report over inputs that changed under its results.

A two-story model designed in version 2.0 — the story column carries walls on levels 1 and 2, each with the shear that reaches it.

FEATURES & BENEFITS

Bidirectional Revit BIM Sync

Export the model from Revit 2025 or 2026, design it here, and push the results back — walls, headers, beams and columns land on the Revit elements as SW_ parameters you can schedule and tag. Change the geometry and re-export: version 2.0 shows you a diff before writing anything, applies it as a single undo step, and keeps every design input you already entered.

ASCE 7 Wind and Snow Loads

Generate wind pressures by the Envelope (Ch. 28) or Directional (Ch. 27) procedure, and ground and roof snow with the unbalanced state on each side of every ridge enveloped — all from ASCE 7-16 or 7-22, with risk category, exposure category, enclosure and drift limits governed project-wide.

Roof Trusses and Rafters, Fully Designed

Build the truss package straight from the roof geometry, then design every member — top chord, bottom chord and webs — plus the bearing check at each support. Flat-bottom and overframed trusses are handled, loads are taken face by face from the real roof surfaces, and each truss reports the load path that produced its reactions.

Flexible and Rigid Diaphragms (SDPWS 2021)

Distribute story shear to the wall lines by tributary area or by relative stiffness — flexible, rigid, or overridden story by story. Version 2.0 designs the diaphragm itself to SDPWS §4.2: unit shear against the sheathing tables, chord tension and compression, collector axial force and aspect-ratio limits, each checked against the member that actually carries it.

Multi-Story Shear Walls — Wood or Steel

The single-story limit is gone. Stories stack, shear accumulates down the building, and every wall is checked with the force that truly reaches it. Design segmented and perforated wood walls to NDS 2024 and SDPWS 2021, or cold-formed steel walls to AISI S240-20 — with hold-down selection and overturning resolved in the same pass.

Beams, Headers and Jack Studs — Auto-Sized

One click calculates every beam supports-first, and Design All (Optimize) sizes them for you across sawn lumber, LVL, PSL and glulam. Wall openings get their headers and jamb packs automatically, members you size by hand stay locked, and when something fails the table tells you exactly why instead of hiding it in a log.

Foundations Designed to ACI 318-19

Strip footings under every wall and pad footings under every post, auto-sized to the smallest section that passes. Bearing, sliding and uplift are all checked and the governing mode is named on each row, with flexural reinforcement, sill anchors and hold-down anchorage reported footing by footing.

Sealed Calculation Packages, Not Printouts

Every discipline emits its own submittal-ready PDF — wind, load distribution, diaphragms, shear walls, trusses, beams, columns and foundations — each with cover, scope, design criteria, index and an Engineer of Record seal block. And a package is never issued over inputs that moved underneath it: results that go stale say so first.

Inside the Calculation Package

Not mock-ups. These are pages from the 155-page lateral package version 2.0 produced for the project shown above — every figure, table and clause reference generated from the model itself.

Shear wall location plan — every wall dimensioned, colour-coded by result, with the full capacity-versus-demand schedule underneath.
Cover, scope, design criteria and a 16-entry index — the package states what it covers and what it does not.
Wind pressure per roof face, rendered in 3D from the model and paired with the ASCE 7 equation behind it.
Load distribution written out in prose and formulas — the reviewer can follow the reasoning, not just the number.

Each discipline ships as its own sealed package, so the reviewer receives the wind, diaphragm, shear wall, truss, beam, column and foundation calculations separately — or bound together as one lateral submittal.

Why Structural Engineers Choose Our Software

Built by structural engineers, for structural engineers. We faced the same tedious light-frame workflow ourselves, so we automated all of it. Version 2.0 carries one Revit-synced 3D model from ASCE 7-16/7-22 wind and snow loads through roof trusses, flexible and rigid diaphragms, multi-story shear walls, headers and jack studs, columns and ACI 318-19 footings — built strictly to NDS 2024 and SDPWS 2021, and sealed into a submittal-ready calculation package.
